The NewtTech installer and launcher use SHA-256 verification for server-managed application and pack files. Incomplete or mismatched downloads are rejected instead of silently becoming part of an installation.

Common questions.
Does NewtTech replace the official Minecraft Launcher?
No. NewtTech manages the modpack, Forge version files, isolated instance, and Java installation profile. The official Minecraft Launcher remains responsible for the player's Microsoft account and Minecraft authentication.
Will a NewtTech pack overwrite my normal Minecraft installation?
No. Each managed pack uses its own game directory under NewtTech's instance storage, keeping mods, configs, saves, and pack-specific settings separate from normal gameplay.
What happens when mods are updated?
NewtTech compares the installed managed files with the current server manifest. Missing or changed files can be downloaded automatically through installation or Verify & Repair.
Do I need to manually install Forge?
No for managed packs that have a published NewtTech version package. The launcher can fetch the exact Forge version package from the NewtTech server and create the matching Java installation profile.
Where are my modpacks stored?
By default, instances are stored under the current Windows user's AppData in the NewtTech Launcher instances directory. The location can be accessed from the launcher settings/downloads pages.
